Everything you need to know about AVDI robot clothing. If your question is not here, contact us.

General

AVDI is a robotics apparel company that designs and manufactures purpose-built clothing for humanoid robots. Every garment is engineered from 3D scan data of specific robot platforms for full-range articulation, sensor transparency, and thermal compatibility. We are not adapting human clothing for robots. We are building robot clothing from the ground up.

We support eight major platforms: Tesla Optimus, Boston Dynamics Atlas, Figure 03, XPeng Iron, 1X NEO, Agility Digit, Sanctuary Phoenix, and Unitree H1. Custom patterns for non-standard platforms are available through our custom order process.

Three reasons. First, psychological: clothed robots are perceived as more approachable and trustworthy by humans, which is critical for customer-facing deployments. Second, practical: clothing protects the chassis from environmental damage, dust, and spills. Third, branding: clothing gives organizations a surface for corporate identity that does not require modifying the robot's hardware.

Sizing and Fit

Robot clothing does not use traditional sizes like S, M, L. Every garment is built to a platform-specific template derived from 3D scan data. You select your robot platform, not a size. Every unit of the same model receives an identical garment. Read our full sizing guide for the technical details.

Every AVDI garment ships with a 100% fit guarantee. If a garment does not fit your robot platform as specified, we remake it at no cost. This covers all standard platform garments and custom orders built to our specifications.

Technical

No. All AVDI garments use sensor-transparent panels at sensor locations, tested for LiDAR, camera, ultrasonic, and RF pass-through on each specific platform. Performance is verified on live hardware before any pattern is approved.

Minimally. Our zero-motion-restriction standard means garments add less than 2% additional power draw. Our thermal management engineering ensures clothing does not cause overheating, which would trigger performance throttling.

Yes. Every garment includes access to the charging port through magnetic flaps, rear splits, or port-aligned cutouts. No removal needed for charging.

Garments are tested to 50,000+ articulation cycles, roughly 6 months of continuous 16-hour daily operation. With rotation and proper care, most garments last well over a year.

Ordering and Pricing

Yes. Orders of 10+ identical garments qualify for fleet pricing, custom branding, replacement schedules, and dedicated account management. See our corporate uniform guide.

Yes. AVDI creates bespoke garments for non-standard platforms, unique designs, specialized materials, and custom requirements. The process takes 5-13 weeks. See our custom ordering guide.

Yes. AVDI ships worldwide. Fleet orders to Asia-Pacific typically arrive within 5-7 business days. Contact us for specific shipping quotes.

Care and Maintenance

Yes. Every garment is machine washable at 30C with standard liquid detergent. Healthcare variants withstand 71C laundering. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. Full instructions in our care guide.

Minor repairs (seam separations under 3cm, panel patches) can be done on-site with the repair kit included in fleet orders. Major damage or structural failures should be replaced. Our fleet programs include replacement options with 48-hour turnaround.
